Academics
Languages & perspective
English-language instruction, with Spanish and French study across an international school community.
Communication in context
More than one way to connect.
English is the language of instruction at AEIS. Spanish and French study add further opportunities to develop language knowledge and engage with different cultural perspectives. The school holds the LabelFrancÉducation distinction.
Language experience is part of the admissions conversation. Families should explain the languages a student uses, the language of previous instruction, and any questions about studying in English. The school can discuss readiness and placement; this website does not set a separate language-test score or promise a specific support program.
The high-school framework
A clear place in the program.
English
English carries 2.5 credits in the published high-school graduation framework. Ask about the course sequence and the reading, writing, and communication work relevant to the student’s grade.
Spanish
Spanish Language and Literature carries 2 credits. Families transferring between schools should discuss their student’s previous coursework with the school.
French
French Language carries 1 credit. AP French Language and Culture is one of the six Advanced Placement subjects; students may take up to two AP courses per school year across the full program.
For learners and families
Make practice specific.
For students
When you notice a language difficulty, identify an example: a paragraph you could not explain, a word you used imprecisely, or a conversation you could not follow. Specific examples help you ask for useful feedback and decide what to practise next.
For parents
Share an accurate picture of your child’s language background rather than a single label such as fluent or beginner. Ask how previous coursework and the intended grade will be considered, and confirm what preparation the school recommends.
