Daily school life

A school day with room to grow.

Understand how classroom learning, activities, and community experience fit together at AEIS.

The daily picture

Learning continues beyond a lesson.

AEIS is a day school serving Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The student experience brings together classroom study, languages, creative work, activities, and community engagement. The exact timetable depends on the student’s grade and current school arrangements; families should request the applicable schedule directly.

As students become more independent, planning matters. A useful weekly overview includes class assignments, activity commitments, deadlines, and time to prepare. It should also leave room to respond to feedback and ask for help.

A wider week

Different ways to take part.

01

Academic life

English instruction is complemented by Spanish and French study. At high-school level, the college-preparatory program includes Honors and six authorized Advanced Placement subjects, with a maximum of two Advanced Placement courses per year. Course choices should be discussed in the context of readiness and graduation requirements.

02

Activities and leadership

Clubs include Model United Nations, Student Council, Debate, Yearbook, Chess, Environmental Action, and Coding. Basketball, football, volleyball, and chess are part of the school’s sports offering. Ask the school about current meeting times, participation arrangements, and team opportunities.

03

Learning in San Pedro Sula

Class-linked visits take place at least monthly. Examples include the Museo de Antropología e Historia, Palacio Municipal, and Reserva El Merendón. The learning purpose comes first: students can connect what they observe with a question from class.

04

Service and the senior year

Students complete 200 verified service hours, usually by the end of Grade 10, with continued participation encouraged. Seniors may have approved shadowing or volunteer placements after 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Only approved, qualifying service counts toward verified hours; confirm arrangements before beginning.

The practical details

Questions to settle before the first day.

For parents and guardians

Request the current daily schedule, arrival and dismissal arrangements, attendance reporting process, required materials, and activity calendar. Confirm who to contact when an arrangement changes. These details are best checked for the student’s year group and entry date.
