The requirement

200 verified hours.

Students complete 200 verified service hours for graduation, usually by the end of Grade 10. Continued service through graduation is encouraged. Students work through school-sponsored projects or approved external placements.

Supervisors verify attendance, duties, and hours. Students submit an activity log and a brief reflection. Senior students also attend approved shadowing or volunteer placements after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays; only actual approved service counts toward the hours requirement.

Before, during, after

Build a reliable record.

01

Before a placement

Confirm school approval, the role, supervision, timing, and any required preparation. Discuss transport and practical arrangements before you commit. An organisation’s presence in the school’s list does not mean every role is suitable or currently available.

02

During the work

Record actual attendance, duties, and hours. Ask the supervisor how the work will be verified. Stay within the approved role and bring questions about responsibilities to the school or supervisor.

03

After each stage

Keep the verified log and write a brief reflection. Explain what you did, what you learned, and what questions the experience raised. A reflection should add meaning rather than repeat the total hours.

Community connections

Work that fits the role.

School-coordinated opportunities may include CEPUDO, TECHO Honduras, Misión Rescate / Herencia Missions, Fundación Nutre Hogar San Pedro Sula, Cruz Roja Hondureña, HOPE worldwide, Teléfono de la Esperanza, and local Rotaract, Rotary, and Lions organisations. Municipal collaboration may also connect students with suitable civic placements.

Work involving minors, medical settings, emergency response, or crisis support is limited to suitable supervised roles and any required training. Crisis-line duties require separate eligibility and certified training. Confirm approval and suitability before arranging a role.
