Getting started

Begin with your student.

Choosing a school involves both academic and practical questions. Start with your child’s current grade, previous school experience, languages, and interests. Tell admissions what you hope to understand about the school and which school year you are considering.

AEIS considers prior academic records, grade-level placement, and readiness for the instructional program. The steps below organise a conversation with the school; they are not an online application, a published admissions timetable, or a guarantee of a place.

A conversation in four parts

Know what comes next.

01

Introduce your family

Contact Maya Hernandez with the intended grade and year. Explain whether this would be a first school experience, a move from another school, or a transfer from a different education system.

02

Understand the program

Read about English instruction, Spanish and French study, and the subjects relevant to the student’s stage. High-school families should also discuss credit requirements, service, and senior projects.

03

Confirm the practical details

Ask about current grade availability, required records, any placement steps, tuition and additional costs, and opportunities to visit. Confirm which requirements apply to your family.

04

Follow the school’s instructions

Use the process and dates admissions provides. Keep a record of requested materials and ask how the school will confirm receipt and communicate next steps. Sending an enquiry alone does not reserve a place.

For future students

Your questions belong here.

Think about the subjects you enjoy and the experiences you would like to try. Ask about joining clubs or teams, studying languages, and finding your way into a new community. You do not have to arrive with a complete plan; a thoughtful question is a useful beginning.
